What is the weather like in Kansas City?

Is there a specific dress code for the tour?
In short, no- not really. Each location on the tour will be different, but as a rule, casual attire is more than appropriate. Jeans are okay, cut offs are not. Short sleeve shirts are okay, sleeveless is not. Try to dress for fun and dress for sauce. After all, stains happen.

Am I allowed to deviate from group activities?
Gourmet Nomads takes great care into the creation of each trip package that we offer. As such, we recommend that all participants stick to the itinerary as it is written. All activities have been crafted and planned specifically for our group size, thus we encourage all guests to enjoy the adventure that has been created.

Can I bring a friend with me on the trip?
Absolutely! Simply tell them about Gourmet Nomads or include them in your reservation, personally. The more the merrier.

Can single travelers join the tours?
Yes, absolutely as anyone interested in a culinary adventure is welcome.

Are there any additional costs I should plan on?
You need to provide for your own transportation to/from the tour starting point. You will also need to cover your own personal extras such as individual items ordered off of the designated tasting menu, additional beverages, t-shirts and souvenirs..

Do I have to purchase the tour in advance?
Yes, advance purchase is required. Tours typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting a reservation, please book well in advance.

Can I get a refund or reschedule my reservations?
Once purchased, reservations cannot be refunded or rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed on the tour. Our tours often sell out. No partial credits or rescheduling is allowed for partial attendance, no shows, or late arrivals. It is your responsibility to show up at the right location, on time. The tours depart promptly.

Are there vegetarian options?
We offer vegetarian options on all of our tours except the Kansas City: The Ultimate BBQ Crawl. Due to the nature of the tour and mass consumption of meats - it is not recommended that vegetarians attend the Kansas City: The Ultimate BBQ Crawl.

What if I have dietary restrictions?
For all tours, please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. religion, nut allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tour. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Are there kosher options?
The majority of the food tastings are not guaranteed kosher.

Do the tours have anything to offer a local?
Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Kansas City. Locals often join us to learn about the great food finds in the their own backyards that have been under their noses the entire time! This tour is a fantastic way to rediscover your own hometown.

What happens if it rains?
The tours are held rain or shine. You should dress appropriately for the day’s weather conditions and bring an umbrella if necessary.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
Gratuities for good service are always greatly appreciated.

Are cameras allowed on the tours?
Yes! In fact, we strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour. However, we do not allow video cameras or tape recorders.

Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time. Please call us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.
